Passage Back in Time
Bring your group on a guided tour of the SS American
Victory. Your group will walk the decks of the American
Victory just like sailors, soldiers, and airmen did
during the wars. An experienced guide will lead you on
an onboard adventure. Learn about the dangers the
merchant ships overcame. Students will engage in
shipboard life with different hands-on age appropriate
activities. Tour the American Victory today!
The tour supports the
Sunshine State Standards by teaching students about
historical storytelling, World War II history, Florida
history, and working with primary sources.

Cost: $4.00 per student $6 per adult
One adult chaperone is admitted free per 10 students.
Be a Mariner for the
Day (Temp suspended)
Turn back time and discover what it was like to be a
sailor during World War II. Students are magically
transformed into mariners to relive the excitement
aboard this historic ship by participating in different
interactive adventures. Check with the Educator for
specific program dates each month or to make a special
arrangement for your group.
Students are given a real
sea-life adventure. Each month children of all ages can
re-live history by participating in different hands-on
activities. Some activities include but are not limited
to: working together to form a gun crew, learning how
Morse code was used to communicate, speaking with
Veterans and creating an oral history, competing in a
life jacket challenge, learning basic ship skills, and
much more!

Rosy the Riveter

Rosie motivated women during World War II. Now she
will help motivate your class. Come meet Rosie as she
takes you on a tour of the ship she built. In addition
to teaching about Florida’s maritime history, Rosie will
teach students about the role of women during World War
II. This tour will include grade level activities that
encourage hands on learning.
The tour supports the
Sunshine State Standards by emphasizing Florida’s
diverse culture, World War II home front, World War II
personalities and events, primary sources, historical
chronology, historical perspective, and social
transformation of women.

Scouting Adventure (Temp suspended)
Calling all troops! This program is perfect for your boy
scouts, cub scouts, girl scouts, brownies, sea scouts,
sea cadets, or sea explorers. Follow the historic trail
aboard the SS American Victory to experience life on a
World War II Victory Ship. Earn an SS American Victory
badge for your participation in the program! Scouting
programs occur once a month and allows your troop to
learn about this rare historic treasure. Contact the
Educator for specific dates.
Complete the historic trail first and your group wins
the competition! Compete against other troops and scouts
to learn about the history of the American Victory. The
historic trail leads you on an onboard adventure. All
participants will earn an American Victory badge. Other
badge requirements depending on scouts level may also be
attained. Check with the educator for specific details.
